Inground winter covers protect pools during the cold winter months from unwanted debris and algae. Thicker covers are likely to carry a longer warranty from the manufacturer, but are usually more expensive than lighter covers.

To find the best size for your rectangle winter cover, you will need to measure the length and width of the pool. Inground winter pool covers are designed to have a 4’-5’ overlap on each side.

Installing a Rectangle Winter Cover for Inground Pools

• After pulling the cover across the pool, use winter cover blocks around the edge of the cover – placing them 18 inches apart.
• Another option (besides winter cover blocks) are water tubes. To prevent breaking water tubes, only fill them about 3/4 of the way full.
